Cabalgata De Reyes Madrid 2015 Christmas

I cant wait, just a few days to go til the Barcelona cabalgata. Its a delicious round-shaped cake with candied fruit orfruta escarchadaon top, to symbolize the precious gems that adorned the wise mens clothing; sometimes theroscnis filled with freshnata(whipped cream),trufa(truffle cream) orcabello de ngel (angels hair), a sort of sugared pumpkin jam. We were innocently wandering around the center of El Puerto de Santa Mara eating an ice cream, when we ran into a crowd of people eagerly awaiting the procession. Its a cultural experience. These parades are truly a sight to behold! Amidst dancers, musicians, and puppeteers, the Kings ride on camels or elaborate floats and throw goodies down to the children, usually candy or sweets. Ive never see a parade like this and it was wonderful to hear how the Spaniards celebrate Three Kings Day. He appears to some extent, but particularly in decorations around town set up by major department stores and international chains. Blessings&Mary Reply Lauren Aloise says January 15, 2012 at 3:43 pm Thank you for the visit Mary! The parade was quite unique! Reply Ansley says January 18, 2012 at 4:44 pm I saw my first cabalgata this year, too, in Murcia. Watching the procession only takes a half an hour, so people have a lot of options for where and when they want to watch. Fascinated by food and its history. This year, as you probably well know by now, Christmas Day falls on a Thursday, Christmas Eve of course being the previous day.

But earlier in the evening the Spaniards take to the streets for the big paradein which the three kings pass by on floats throwing candy to the masses. The floats are pulled by John Deere tractors.I grew up riding a John Deere with my Dad every weekend so I have a soft spot for these big machines. Programa: Tel. Madrids Mayor announced a serious cut-back on Christmas lights in the city this year in order to save money, but you cant tell at all. Thanks for giving us a glimpse of the festivities. Regardless of the roscn, SOMEONE has to cut-into the little toy hidden inside, which means they have to buy the roscn next year. Thats right, in Spain the holidays dont end on New Years Day. The colorful Roscn de Reyes is eaten on the morning of Three Kings day so delicious! Photo Credit: Luisa Although sightings of Santa Claus are becoming more common in recent years, historicallyLa Adoracin de los Reyes Magosis the most important Christmas tradition in Spain. The procession passes throughout the historic center, allowing everyone to admire the floats and catch candies. Remember, its just candy, and although its free its not worth fighting for. Whoever finds the faba bean has to pay for theroscn! There are a number ofpastry shops and bakeries in Madrid where you can try a Roscn de Reyes in the weeks leading up to the Reyes celebration. All along the route of the parade, candy is thrown into the crowd, the children often collecting it in upside-down open umbrellas. Some families celebrate Santa Claus Pap Noel on the 25th of December while other families celebrate the Three Wise Men Los Reyes Magos on the 6th of January. I didnt get a single piece, although I did try for a few, albeit less aggressively than those who got the loot. Although the Reyes Magos are based on biblical characters, they play the same kind of role as Santa Claus does in America, who, despite originating from religious tradition, has essentially become a secular figure. So Many Days Off?. Lets hope 2016 brings unexpected pleasure and success to each and every one of us. b2d0762948
